Goal: Build familiarity with tools, core concepts, and basic wireframes.

1: Intro & Tools

• What is UI/UX? Importance, career paths. (Mini task: note down 3 apps you like/dislike & why)

• Figma interface, frames, shapes, text.
• Grids, alignment, spacing practice. (Exercise: design a basic card layout)
• Colours & typography in Figma. (Activity: create a colour + type style guide)
• Hands -on: replicate a simple webpage layout.

2: Wireframing Basics

• Low -fidelity wireframing – theory + sketches.
• Practice low -fidelity in Figma. (Task: mobile login screen)
• Mid -fidelity wireframes (buttons, inputs).
• Intro to high -fidelity. (Task: redesign login in hi -fi)
• Mini -project: landing page wireframes.

3: Design Thinking

• UCD, HCD, CXD overview.
• UX Laws (Jakob’s, Fitts’, Hick’s).
• UX Principles (consistency, feedback, affordance).
• Moodboard creation. (Task: make a moodboard for an app idea)
• UI elements (buttons, inputs, cards).

4: Application

• Combine elements into a webpage layout.
• Wireframe + UI elements assignment.
• Group critique & feedback session.
• Iteration day (improve based on feedback).
• Assessment: Landing page project submission.

2 – Prototyping & Interaction

Goal: Learn responsive design, prototyping, and interaction basics.

1: Responsive Design

• Why responsive design matters.
• Breakpoints and grids.
• Mobile -first vs desktop -first.
• Responsive examples in Figma.
• Task: responsive homepage wireframes.

2: Prototyping Basics

• Prototyping: linking screens.
• Prototyping task (multi -page flow).
• Smart Animate basics.
• Micro -interactions (hover, press).
• Mini project: prototype login + checkout.

3: Motion & Interaction

• Animation examples in real apps.
• Advanced Smart Animate.
• Transition styles & effects.
• Build an interactive navigation prototype.
• Assignment: interactive prototype submission.

4: Research

• Qualitative vs quantitative research.
• User Persona creation.
• Empathy Map.
• Journey Map.
• Research task – design for a local app scenario.

3 – Structures & Systems

Goal: Understand information architecture, dashboards, and design systems.

1: Information Architecture

• Introduction to Information Architecture (IA).
• Navigation design for mobile vs desktop.
• User flows basics.
• Create user flows for an e -commerce app.
• Assessment – submit IA + user flow diagram.

2: Dashboard Design

• What makes a good dashboard.
• Charts & graphs basics.
• Dashboard layouts.
• Create a sample dashboard.
• Peer feedback session.

3: Dashboard Advanced

• Interactive dashboards (filters, tabs).
• Dashboard aesthetics (colors, hierarchy).
• Redesign task – improve a bad dashboard.
• Dashboard review session.
• Dashboard design assessment.

4: Design Systems

• What is a design system?
• Colours, typography, components.
• Building reusable components in Figma.
• Documenting design guidelines.
• Mini project: create a mini design system.

4 – Testing & Case Studies

Goal: Test, iterate, and build portfolio -ready case studies.

1: Usability Testing

• Usability testing basics.
• Conducting tests (A/B, think -aloud).
• Analyzing results.
• Iterating designs.
• Apply feedback to prototype.

2: UX Writing

• What is UX writing?
• Writing for buttons, forms, errors.
• Writing for empty states & onboarding.
• Tone & voice in UX writing.
• Practice: rewrite app microcopy.

3: Case Studies

• What is a UX case study?
• Structuring research + design process.
• Writing for portfolio impact.
• Peer review session.
• Case study draft submission.

4: Capstone Project

• Project briefing – website + app experience.
• Research & wireframes.
• Design system + hi -fi mockups.
• 79: Prototype + usability test.
• Final presentations & feedback.
